The President of the Jordan Engineers Association, Abdullah Ghosheh, inaugurated the "Engineering Season" events, organized by the Engineers Academy for Engineering Development and Training in cooperation with the Young Engineers Committee. The initiative aims to develop professional skills, enhance labor market requirements, and keep pace with technological transformations and modern engineering specializations.
Ghosheh stated that the "Engineering Season" is based on three integrated tracks: "Future Engineers," "Industry Bridge," and "Experts Circle," providing a framework for professional development that combines knowledge and skill acquisition, practical application, and the transfer of expertise between engineering generations.
Ghosheh emphasized that the development of legislation is proceeding in parallel with the modernization of the professional qualification and training system, noting that the Engineers Academy for Engineering Development and Training is working to prepare programs that align with market needs and major strategic projects in the Kingdom.
For her part, the Director of the Engineers Academy for Engineering Development and Training, Engineer Samar Al-Kilani, said that the role of the Association is not only a professional framework that regulates the profession and protects the interests of its members, but also a platform to empower engineers throughout their professional careers through training, qualification, and professional development, linking them to modern technologies and the labor market.
For his part, the head of the Young Engineers Committee, Ahmed Al-Tawara, said that the importance of the role of young engineers lies in making the Engineering Season a success and benefiting from its programs and training workshops.
He added that the preparation of the season came in response to the need to provide diverse training and development opportunities that meet needs, stressing the importance of colleagues' interaction with union and training programs and proposed legislation aimed at keeping pace with the developments of the profession.
It is noteworthy that the "Future Engineers" track focuses on the skills and knowledge that engineers need in light of modern transformations, including sustainability, the green and circular economy, energy, artificial intelligence, and future skills, while the "Industry Bridge" track aims to transfer knowledge to application and enhance the connection of engineers with work sites, the engineering sector, and actual market experiences.
Engineer Omar Al-Abadleh presented a workshop titled "Professional Readiness for the Young Engineer: Communication, Leadership, and Bridging the Gap between University and the Labor Market," which addressed the most prominent challenges facing young engineers when transitioning from academic life to the labor market, and the skills necessary to enhance their competitiveness and professional opportunities.
