Counter-culture

The most important lessons learned from the cowardly terrorist incident in "Hamoud" and those preceding it are that all our security institutions are performing their role and sacrificing blood and effort to confront this scourge that has persisted in its defiance, but what is happening prompts us to question the roles assigned to other institutions with a preventive intellectual role or the concept of counter-culture.

For example, in our local scene, we have a Ministry of Culture that embraces hundreds of cultural clubs and associations, and we have a vast electronic space visited by many of our youth and even our children.

So why don't we activate this role and try to 'humanize' and 'modernize' our activities to build a counter-culture to the culture of terrorism, takfir, and rejection of the 'other'!

For a state of intellectual vacuum, if accompanied by spare time, and alongside it a state of searching for identity among the youth in particular... drives them to search for other ideas to prove themselves.

It also makes them victims of the traps of this ideology, from which we still have the opportunity to rid ourselves by producing new roles linked to our cultural institutions, and opening windows so that cultural activities become an attractive state rather than a repulsive one.

For example, paying attention to popular heritage and folklore, focusing on the commonalities in our culture and presenting them through social media platforms, and creating creative activities with videos that reinforce these concepts, fosters a collective sense of national unity.

Also, reviewing the biographies of writers, politicians, and intellectuals, brushing the dust off them, and modernizing (or digitizing) these biographies offers models that our society is in dire need of, as if you review many aspects of it, you realize that some are searching for a role model..

Terrorism and its organizations have succeeded in addressing this group by portraying themselves as possessing a 'sacred' culture from the past, and that the concepts they broadcast are related and relevant to the past, making it easy for them to hunt for the minds of young people who suffered from the disease of emptiness and were thus afflicted with the disease of terrorism..

The ideas are numerous, but we need today to realize that this cancerous takfiri ideology requires us to mobilize our platforms, minds, and cultural institutions to come up with a vision and method that prevents this cancer.. Today we are in dire need of broadcasting a discourse of joy and hope among people, and its seeds are in the minds of thinkers, preachers, and intellectuals who have the responsibility to transcend the boundaries of misery to the horizons of life.

May God have mercy on the martyrs of the nation, whose biographies and battle against these ravens must also be documented, so they remain witnesses that the nation was able to protect its soil, its children, and its people.. And may God protect our Hashemite homeland, the oak of life and its dew..
