Chinese museum employs technology to condense the journey of China's renaissance from the ground to space

- A digital tour in a Chinese museum condenses a development journey spanning years into 5 minutes

Using interactive display technologies and advanced virtual reality, journalists representing several Arab countries underwent a digital experience that showcased China's development journey from the ground to space, in a visual voyage that lasted about five minutes and condensed milestones of a renaissance that spanned decades.

This came during a visit by a press delegation representing several Arab countries, including Jordan, to the Museum of the Communist Party of China in the capital, Beijing, which documents the stages of China's development during the Party's rule and displays milestones of its progress on economic, military, scientific, and technological levels.

Journalists were given an interactive experience inside a replica spacecraft, where participants sat on moving seats that traveled a limited distance forward before the start of a 5D visual presentation, which took them on a journey simulating China's development, from the beginnings of its renaissance to economic and urban development and military manufacturing, then progress in space exploration, along with other milestones that relied on China's own capabilities and potentials.

The journey moved between land, sea, and air routes in an attempt to provide a comprehensive picture of the stages of the Chinese renaissance through an experience that combined visual, motion, and sound effects.

During the show, participants lived a realistic experience, as they interacted with the displayed scenes through multiple effects, including water spray that scattered over their heads when passing by water scenes, as well as the vibration and movement of the seats in proportion to the nature of the scenes, whether during the ascent to space, the descent into the depths of the sea, or crossing high bridges.

The sound and motion effects that accompanied the show enhanced the feeling of being inside a real journey and made the participants interact with its various stages, even though they were undergoing a virtual experience inside the museum.

The museum also allows visitors to view important historical stages concerning China and includes photos and information about each stage, including the COVID-19 pandemic phase, and explains how China dealt with the pandemic and the efforts made locally to emerge from the pandemic that spread throughout the world.

The museum, which has become a tourist attraction, houses more than 4,500 artifacts and 2,500 historical photos, which provide a narrative of the renaissance journey in China.

Construction of the museum began on September 10, 2018, and was completed on May 5, 2020, while it was inaugurated in 2021, and nearly 50,000 people participated directly in its construction project.

The museum has attracted more than 3.5 million visits since its opening in June 2021 until the end of June 2024, according to museum data reported by Xinhua News Agency earlier.
