Bani Obaid Municipality: Payment of 6 Million Dinars of Debts

The Chairman of the Bani Obaid Municipality Committee, Mr. Riyadh Al-Jarrah, confirmed that the municipality achieved a qualitative leap in its financial and service performance, as it managed to increase the efficiency of collections and pay previous debts and obligations amounting to about 6 million dinars, which contributed to enhancing its financial stability and alleviating the burdens on it.

Al-Jarrah explained that the municipality's budget amounted to 12.34 million dinars, noting that the budget took into account covering all financial dues, including employee salaries and operational obligations, in addition to funding capital and service projects in various areas of the district.

He added that the municipality launched a new package of tenders with a total value of approximately 5 million dinars, which included the opening and paving of streets and asphalt mixtures, paving, installation of murals and street furniture. This package included allocating 625 thousand dinars for the establishment of rainwater drainage networks and the treatment of hot spots in winter, and 150 thousand dinars for the maintenance and rehabilitation of 8 heritage houses to preserve the urban identity of the region.

Al-Jarrah pointed out the allocation of 300 thousand dinars within the tenders to open agricultural roads, with the aim of facilitating farmers' access to their lands and serving citizens living in peripheral areas outside the scope of regulation and within the administrative boundaries of the municipality.

The Chairman of the Municipality Committee concluded his statement by noting that the municipality continues to work in parallel on the implementation of a previous tender worth 4.5 million dinars, affirming that these integrated efforts come to raise the efficiency of the infrastructure and improve the level of services provided to the people of Bani Obaid District.

On the issue of cleanliness and field follow-up, Al-Jarrah pointed out that the municipality conducted a comprehensive assessment of the region regarding the level of general cleanliness, where its percentage was raised since he assumed the chairmanship of the committee through the launch of daily and intensive cleanliness campaigns covering all areas. He emphasized his keenness to implement field inspection visits and meet with the locals to listen to their needs, in addition to organizing night tours to follow up the progress of work and projects and ensure the sustainability of cleanliness at all times.
