The Chairman of the Baladiyah Tabaqat Fahl Committee, Engineer Hamza Al-Momani, said that during the morning session held today, the municipal council decided to cancel its previous decision related to the prohibition of granting professional licenses for vegetable and fruit sales stores to traders and citizens within the municipality areas, and to allow their issuance according to specific conditions and criteria.
Al-Momani explained that this decision comes to achieve the desired balance between supporting the region's children and encouraging them to establish small investment projects, while maintaining the cleanliness of the streets and the fluidity of traffic and pedestrian movement. He added that the decision aligns with the royal directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al-Hussein, may God protect him, aimed at supporting the national economy, encouraging investment, and simplifying procedures for citizens and project owners.
Regarding the fate of the previously established vegetable market in Al-Mashari', which was founded to regulate the trade of vegetables and fruits, Al-Momani explained that the municipality is currently studying the available options to maximize the benefits of the site, where the option is heading towards offering it for investment or converting it into a service building affiliated with the municipality to be used as a headquarters for the Mechanical Movement and Technical Implementation Department, which will positively reflect on improving service performance and developing the region's infrastructure.
The Chairman of the Committee emphasized that the granting of professional licenses will be closely linked to compliance with the approved instructions and requirements to ensure non-encroachment on sidewalks or public streets, and to maintain the civilized appearance, cleanliness, and public safety of the area.
Al-Momani explained that the conditions for obtaining and practicing the license include the store meeting all the required health and legal conditions, prohibiting the parking of vehicles in front of it except during loading and unloading times in the morning period only, and prohibiting the display or placement of any vegetables or fruits outside the legal boundaries of the store.
The Chairman of the Committee stressed the necessity of full compliance with maintaining the cleanliness of the store and its surroundings continuously, and prohibiting the practice of commercial activity before obtaining the professional license in an original manner, confirming that legal measures will be taken against violators, which include revoking the license and closing the store in accordance with the applicable legislation.
Engineer Al-Momani called on everyone to cooperate and comply with the instructions to serve the public interest and enhance the level of services provided in the municipality areas.
Citizens and project owners in the Al-Mashari' area welcomed this step, confirming that it contributes to revitalizing commercial activity and alleviating the burden on families and traders.
