Al-Safadi from Syria welcomes the announcement of the dissolution of the "SDF" and its integration into Syrian military institutions

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, and Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Al-Shaibani held extensive talks on Wednesday, in which they affirmed their keenness to build on the continuous development of Jordanian-Syrian relations, continue working to develop them into a comprehensive strategic partnership, and enhance operational and institutional cooperation between the two countries in various fields.

Safadi and Al-Shaibani discussed preparations for the third session of the Higher Coordination Council scheduled to be held in Damascus this October, followed up on the implementation of the outcomes of the second session held in Amman last April, and translated what was agreed upon into operational steps, especially in the sectors of trade, investment, transport, customs, water, energy, and other priority sectors, in a way that achieves the interests of both countries and peoples.

Safadi affirmed the Kingdom's firm position in supporting Syria in the reconstruction process on foundations that ensure its unity, sovereignty, security, stability, and the integrity of its territories and citizens, and preserve the rights of all Syrians, stressing that Syria's security and stability are a pillar for the security and stability of the region.

Safadi welcomed the announcement of the dissolution of the Syrian Democratic Forces "SDF" and their integration into Syrian military institutions, considering it an important step towards strengthening the unity, security, and stability of the Syrian Arab Republic, and affirming the Kingdom's support for all efforts aimed at strengthening Syria's unity, sovereignty, and the cohesion of its institutions.

Safadi and Al-Shaibani also discussed the developments in southern Syria and the efforts made to implement the joint Jordanian-Syrian-American roadmap regarding resolving the crisis in As-Suwayda and the stability of southern Syria, on the basis of the unity of Syrian territory, ensuring the security of all Syrian citizens, their rights, and the sovereignty of the Syrian state over all its territories.

Safadi and Al-Shaibani reiterated their condemnation of the repeated Israeli attacks and incursions into Syrian territory, and affirmed the necessity of stopping them as they are a flagrant violation of Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity, and a blatant breach of international law and Israel's obligations under the 1974 Disengagement Agreement.

They warned of the consequences of continued Israeli attacks on Syria's security and stability and on regional security and stability, at a time when the Syrian government is focusing on reconstruction and ensuring Syria's security and stability, and is pursuing a diplomatic path to address outstanding issues and achieve de-escalation.

Safadi and Al-Shaibani affirmed the necessity of ending the Israeli occupation of the Syrian territories it has occupied, respecting Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity, and stopping all interventions that target its security and stability.

They discussed regional developments and affirmed the importance of continuing coordination and consultation regarding them, supporting efforts aimed at ending escalation, restoring calm, achieving sustainable security and stability, and reaching a comprehensive solution that ensures addressing all causes of tension.

Safadi and Al-Shaibani condemned the Iranian attacks on Jordan and Arab countries, and affirmed full solidarity in the face of these attacks.

Al-Shaibani affirmed Syria's standing by Jordan and the Arab countries in all steps they take to protect their territories, sovereignty, and security from repeated Iranian attacks.

The two ministers agreed to maintain consultation, communication, and coordination between the concerned authorities in both countries to follow up on cooperation paths and implement what has been agreed upon, in a way that enhances brotherly relations and serves the interests of both countries and peoples.
