Al-Safadi and Al-Shaibani discuss implementing the roadmap to resolve the As-Suwayda crisis and the stability of southern Syria

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Al-Safadi, discussed on Wednesday with Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Al-Shaibani the developments in southern Syria.

During their meeting in Syria, Al-Safadi and Al-Shaibani also discussed the efforts exerted to implement the joint Jordanian-Syrian-American roadmap regarding resolving the crisis in As-Suwayda and the stability of southern Syria, based on the unity of Syrian territory, ensuring the security and rights of all Syrian citizens, and the sovereignty of the Syrian state over all its territories.

They condemned the repeated Israeli attacks and incursions into Syrian territory, emphasizing the necessity of stopping them as a flagrant violation of Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity, a blatant breach of international law, and a violation of Israel's obligations under the 1974 Disengagement Agreement.

They warned against the consequences of the continued Israeli attacks on Syria's security and stability, as well as on regional security and stability, at a time when the Syrian government is focusing on rebuilding, ensuring Syria's security and stability, and pursuing a diplomatic path to address pending issues and achieve calm.

The two ministers stressed the necessity of ending the Israeli occupation of the Syrian territories it has occupied, respecting Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity, and stopping all interventions targeting its security and stability.

Al-Safadi and Al-Shaibani held expanded talks, during which they affirmed their keenness to build upon the continuous development witnessed in Jordanian-Syrian relations, continue working to develop them into a comprehensive strategic partnership, and enhance operational and institutional cooperation between the two countries in various fields.
