Al-Dharaba opens a Family Library center at the National Library

Director General of the National Library Department, Firas Al-Dharaba, opened on Sunday a center for the Family Library project at the department's headquarters, as part of the project’s efforts aimed at enhancing cultural movement, spreading knowledge, and encouraging community members to read and acquire books.

The center includes a diverse collection of Family Library project publications, covering the fields of literature, thought, and history, in addition to works that address Jordanian and Arab heritage and culture, as well as children's and youth books, and scientific and knowledge-based publications, catering to the interests of readers of various age groups.

Al-Dharaba emphasized that the Family Library project constitutes one of the important initiatives in spreading culture and enhancing cognitive awareness among community members, due to the opportunities it provides to access sources of knowledge and explore various intellectual and literary productions.

He pointed out that making books available at nominal prices contributes to expanding the base of beneficiaries and enabling the largest possible segment of citizens to acquire books, thereby strengthening the status of reading as a fundamental means for acquiring knowledge, developing thought, and consolidating cultural awareness.

The opening of the center comes in the context of efforts aimed at supporting reading and expanding opportunities for accessing books, and encouraging various age groups to read and explore, contributing to building a society more connected to culture and knowledge.
