Al-Dawoud.. A Young Man Utilizing Traditional Cuisine to Promote Tourism in Ajloun

The youth of Ajloun Governorate continue to present initiatives and ideas that contribute to promoting the tourist and cultural assets of the governorate by investing individual talents and linking them to the local heritage and the nature that the region is distinguished by.

Among these experiences, the young man Ewad Al-Dawoud stands out, who chose popular dishes and traditional food as a means to introduce Ajloun through the preparation of heritage dishes in different locations and linking them to the story of the place in an experience that combines cultural content and tourism promotion.

Al-Dawoud said in an interview with the Jordanian News Agency (Petra) that the idea of preparing popular dishes in natural and heritage sites came from his belief that food represents part of the identity of the place and that traditional dishes carry stories linked to the lives and customs of the locals and can be a means to introduce the governorate and its heritage.

He added that his choice of natural and heritage sites to prepare and photograph the dishes aims to present a comprehensive image of Ajloun so that the dish appears within its environment linked to nature and place, reflecting an aspect of the details of local life.

He explained that his interest in traditional food aims to document a part of the popular memory by presenting traditional dishes in a visual style that highlights their ingredients and preparation methods, noting that the image and digital content contributed to reaching a wider audience and introducing the tourist and cultural assets of the governorate.

Al-Dawoud pointed out that he has presented a number of experiences that combine cooking and local identity, including the preparation of Khabisa and Mutaddaqat al-Teen, in addition to works related to national occasions, including the 'Cooking of the Homeland' that he implemented on the occasion of Independence Day using natural ingredients to show the colors of the Jordanian flag in a picture that links the traditional food heritage and national identity.

He explained that his participation in youth and community activities helped him develop his ideas and expand his circle of communication with the local community, indicating the importance of continuing to develop content related to heritage and tourism and presenting the place in new ways.

Al-Dawoud affirmed that his goal is to continue documenting the Ajloun heritage and introducing the governorate through ideas that combine culture, tourism, and digital content to highlight its natural and heritage assets.

Al-Dawoud called on young people to invest their talents and ideas in introducing their governorates, stressing that tourism promotion is not limited to sites and natural landscapes but also includes presenting the stories of the place, its heritage, and the details of its daily life so that the visitor gets a comprehensive experience in which they get to know the culture of the region and its popular dishes alongside its natural beauty.
