Al-Batayneh emphasizes the importance of institutional work to counter hate speech and consolidate societal peace

The Mayor of Al-Kafarat and former Director of Awqaf, Dr. Jamal Al-Batayneh, affirmed that work must be done now to defeat hate speech and focus on building intellectual and moral awareness that protects the security of society and contributes to promoting a culture of tolerance and coexistence among all its members.

Dr. Al-Batayneh explained that principled stances in condemning incidents that affect human dignity and the right of individuals to life constitute an important first step, but the current phase requires moving towards a deep and comprehensive study of intellectual and social environments to develop practical action plans that contribute to strengthening intellectual immunity and preventing the causes of discord and intolerance.

Dr. Al-Batayneh called for a comprehensive review in which various educational, religious, and media institutions contribute, pointing to the importance of developing curricula to cultivate critical thinking, updating religious discourse to be closer to youth and their contemporary issues, in addition to activating the role of the media in spreading the values of citizenship and diversity away from polarization.

Dr. Al-Batayneh stressed that drawing inspiration from the noble Prophetic guidance in dealing with diversity and managing differences represents a comprehensive human model based on justice, fulfilling covenants, and upholding human dignity. He concluded by emphasizing the need for sustainable institutional national work based on scientific diagnosis and practical programs, ensuring the preservation of societal peace and stability in the long term.
