Al Baddawi: Expansion of School Transportation in the Desert is a Step to Protect Students

The Chairman of the Public Services and Transport Committee, MP Dr. Ayman Al Baddawi, praised the directive of Prime Minister Dr. Jafar Hassan to expand the free school transportation project in the southern desert areas, adding 3,500 students to the beneficiaries' umbrella starting from the beginning of the second semester next.

Al Baddawi said in his interview with 'Al Rai' that the expansion of the project, which will increase the number of benefiting students in the southern desert to 12,500, reflects the government's seriousness in addressing school transportation challenges, especially in areas where geographical nature and living conditions impose additional challenges on students and families.

He confirmed that the Public Services and Transport Committee made strenuous efforts and diligent follow-up to reach this national project, stemming from its responsibility to push towards practical and sustainable solutions for the school transportation file, ensuring students' arrival at schools and return home in safe conditions.

Al Baddawi emphasized that the committee will continue to monitor the project, preserve it, and support its development, considering it a direct investment in students' safety and their right to safe access to education, especially children from remote and difficult circumstances.

He pointed to the importance of building on the results of the first phase of the project and developing monitoring and control tools, including electronic tracking systems and a smart application for school transportation, to ensure service efficiency and raise the level of safety and reassurance among families.

Al Baddawi confirmed that the parliamentary role in the coming phase will be to monitor the sustainability of the project and support the studied expansion in various regions of the Kingdom, leading to a more comprehensive and efficient school transportation system that preserves students' safety and alleviates the burden on their families.
