The Chairman of the Irbid Greater Municipality Committee, Imad Al-Azza, announced the official submission of the tender for the rehabilitation and paving project of the main Hawwara Road, previously known as the Haifa-Baghdad Road, to the contractor with a total value of 974,850 dinars. This is part of the municipality's plan to develop and rehabilitate vital and strategic roads in the city.
He pointed out that the official submission of the tender to the contractor represents a new implementation step to start the project works, affirming that the municipality continues to implement its projects in the field of road infrastructure according to priorities and actual needs with the aim of improving the level of services provided to citizens and enhancing the efficiency of the road network in various areas of the municipality.
Al-Azza emphasized the importance of the road as one of the main arteries for traffic, commercial, and industrial movement in Irbid, noting that its rehabilitation and paving will constitute an important addition to the infrastructure reality and serve the users of the road and the areas and sectors linked to it.
Al-Azza said that the project includes the road extending from the Barda Junction to the new traffic light located after the Sireih-Hawwara Junction, explaining that the implementation of the rehabilitation and paving works comes due to the importance of the road and its need for comprehensive rehabilitation after years of heavy use.
He confirmed that the Hawwara Road is one of the main and strategic roads in Irbid Governorate, enjoying active traffic movement around the clock and forming an important passage towards a number of vital areas, most notably the Al-Hassan Industrial City, in addition to its role in serving commercial and industrial movement and the transportation of goods.
Al-Azza explained that the project includes rehabilitation and paving works for the road, which contributes to raising its readiness level, improving traffic flow, and enhancing safety for its users, especially in light of the heavy traffic of vehicles and trucks witnessed by the road.
