A seminar at the National Library discusses the rapid changes in the region

A dialogue seminar titled 'In the Circle of the National Library', held on Saturday evening, discussed the regional landscape and its impact on Jordan, in light of the rapid transformations the region is witnessing, and the options available to the Kingdom to preserve its national interests and enhance its ability to face challenges.

The seminar, organized by the Muhammad Al-Hummouri Forum for Cultural Development, titled 'From Regional Crises to Reshaping the Region: Where Does Jordan Stand?', within the series 'The Question of Immunity and Renaissance', was attended by a member of the Senate, Dr. Khaled Al-Kalaldeh, along with official and public figures, academics, and members of the administrative and public bodies of the Forum and the media. The dialogue was moderated by Dr. Munzer Al-Hawarrat, in the presence of the Forum's President, Dr. Tariq Al-Hummouri.

Al-Hawarrat began the seminar by asking about the nature of the current phase, and whether the region is witnessing transient crises or if it is facing a reshaping of a new global system in light of recent regional developments.

During the seminar, Al-Kalaldeh presented a reading of the regional landscape, pointing to the existence of major regional projects that are attracting the region, noting that the absence of an effective Arab project has allowed these projects more space to influence.

He said that Arab countries, especially after the events of the so-called 'Arab Spring', have been divided into groups; some were preoccupied with internal affairs, others dealt with the consequences of the events with greater flexibility and ability to contain their effects, and a third was able to recover from the effects of what happened.

Al-Kalaldeh explained that these circumstances contributed to providing a favorable environment for the expansion of non-Arab regional projects, pointing out that the Kingdom is facing a set of challenges, stressing the need to deal with them in a thoughtful and intelligent manner, which allows overcoming them at the lowest possible cost, and preserves the state's ability to continue its development path.

Al-Kalaldeh emphasized that Jordan's national and national interests are a'red line', stressing the importance of preserving them, enhancing the Kingdom's ability to protect its borders and interests, and building strategic options with its allies in line with the nature of the transformations taking place in the region.

He stressed that dealing with regional developments requires an accurate reading of the scene, not being content with reactions, along with strengthening internal strength elements and building strategic options that preserve Jordan's security, stability, and national interests.

The attendees emphasized the importance of continuing to read the regional landscape away from immediate reactions, and enhancing national dialogue about Jordan's strategic options, in line with the state's constants and national interests, and enhancing its ability to deal with regional and international changes.
