Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in an interview with Axios that he was not aware of the "ceasefire in the energy sector" between Ukraine and Russia announced by US President Donald Trump earlier on Sunday.
But he confirmed that Kyiv would accept it if Moscow agreed.
Axios quoted Zelenskyy as saying, "The announcement of the ceasefire was news to me. But if the Russians agree to a ceasefire in the energy sector, Ukraine will agree. And if President Trump has negotiated it with Putin, please let us know when it will start — we are ready and will accept it."
US President Donald Trump announced on Sunday that an agreement had been reached to cease fire in the energy sector within the war between Russia and Ukraine, confirming that the agreement had come into effect immediately.
Trump said in a post on the Truth Social platform that both parties had agreed to a ceasefire in the energy sector, warning against breaching the agreement.
