Yemeni Army: Targeting Houthis with 744 operations and neutralizing 200 elements

The Yemeni Army announced on Tuesday the execution of 744 precision targeting operations against the Houthi group, and the neutralization of 200 of its elements during the past 24 hours.

The army said in a statement that "the armed forces continued to develop their offensive operations as part of the 'Dawn of Yemen' operation, and carried out 744 precision and direct targeting operations during the past 24 hours."

It added that these operations were carried out "using warplanes, drones, field artillery, rocket launchers, and sniper units, as the strikes reached command and control centers, firing positions, fortified sites, reserve mobilization areas, and the militia's reinforcements and supply lines."

It pointed out that in Taiz (southwest), "the armed forces continued to expand their combat pressure and push the militia to retreat, while the eastern, southern, and western fronts maintain a synchronized operational rhythm that restricts the movement of the enemy's reserves and prevents it from achieving any field gains."

It indicated that "the operations resulted in the neutralization of about 200 militia elements, and the destruction and disabling of 90 military vehicles and equipment."

"Neutralizing" is a military term that means removing elements from the combat cycle, either by killing or wounding.

There was no immediate comment from the Houthi group regarding what was stated in the statement.

These developments fall within a military escalation that began in July 2026, which is considered the broadest since the relative calm that Yemen witnessed following a truce that began in April 2022.

Since October 5, the "Dawn of Yemen" military operation has been ongoing, which the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, Rashad al-Alimi, said aims to restore state institutions from the Houthis and take control of the capital, Sanaa.

Yemen has been witnessing a war since the Houthis took control of the capital, Sanaa, and several governorates in September 2014, before an Arab coalition led by Saudi Arabia intervened in March 2015 in support of the internationally recognized Yemeni government.
