US President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that the US economy is the envy of the world, describing the US military as the "strongest"
In his speech at the UN General Assembly, he added: "We are leaders in all fields"
He continued: "The United States is working to make the world safer"
He said the United States has become stronger than ever, pointing to record levels in the economy and investments, and affirming that his administration has moved from words to actions in dealing with international challenges.
Trump added that the United States has created more than a million jobs in the private sector since he took office, and that the average American family income has risen to a record level of $87,000, according to him.
He pointed out that his administration has lifted 1.5 million Americans from the brink of poverty over the past year, and that poverty rates among African-American and Latino Americans have declined, he said.
Trump said his administration has worked to remove unnecessary regulatory constraints and lower taxes, adding that the United States attracted investment pledges worth $21 trillion from around the world over the past 12 months.
Trump pointed out that US stock markets have reached record levels, affirming that the country is experiencing economic growth and expansion of its capabilities, and that his administration has invested $1.5 trillion in the US military.
On the domestic front, Trump said the United States currently has the safest borders, and according to him, the past 16 months have seen no illegal immigrants enter the country.
He added that his administration achieved the largest decline in violent crime in US history last year, pointing to an 87% drop in crime in Washington, DC, according to him.
Trump affirmed that his administration seeks to make the world safer and more prosperous, saying the United States will not allow risks to persist or problems to worsen, and that he prefers to deal with them before they become more difficult to solve.
Iran and nuclear capabilities
Regarding Iran, he described Iran as the main sponsor of terrorism, accusing the Iranian regime of practicing violence and spreading chaos in the Middle East and beyond for 51 years.
He said he has been committed since the first day of his presidency to not allowing Iran to possess a nuclear weapon, pointing out that he started negotiations with it and offered economic cooperation in exchange for ending its nuclear program and support for terrorism, but it rejected the offer, according to him.
Trump added that the US military carried out Operation "Midnight Hammer", which he said eliminated and destroyed Iran's nuclear program.
He renewed his call for Iran to conclude an agreement, warning of its continued missile development, and said Tehran is working on manufacturing a missile capable of reaching Europe, urging Europeans to take this into account.
Trump claimed that Iran was seeking to complete its acquisition of a nuclear weapon by developing its ballistic missile capabilities, warning of the consequences for international security.
He also accused the Iranian regime of killing large numbers of its citizens, saying more than 72,000 people were killed this year, including 10,000 recently during protests, according to him.
Trump said he gave Iran opportunities to conclude an agreement before taking military action, adding that the United States intervened to prevent what he described as a nuclear nightmare that it and other countries could have faced.
In the context of the military operation "Epic Wrath", Trump said US forces destroyed 159 Iranian ships, along with air forces, radars, air defense systems, missiles, drones, and Iranian manufacturing capabilities.
He added that the operations caused significant damage to the Iranian economy, pointing out that inflation in Iran exceeded 300%, according to him.
Speaking about the Gaza Strip, Trump expressed his thanks to Jordan and a number of countries for contributing to stabilizing Gaza by training police forces.
