The Arab House Cultural Forum, under the patronage of Minister of Culture Mustafa Al-Rawashdeh, is launching the activities of the third season of "Jordanian Cultural Days" under the title "The Jordanian Narrative," from October 18 to 22. The cultural program includes intellectual, historical, and archaeological seminars, as well as a poetry evening, with the participation of a group of writers, intellectuals, and researchers, in cooperation with several Jordanian cultural institutions.
The activities seek to shed light on the Jordanian narrative as one of the important pillars in preserving national memory and documenting historical and civilizational milestones, highlighting the components of Jordanian identity and the richness of its cultural and human heritage, in addition to promoting dialogue on the mechanisms for documenting this narrative and passing it on to future generations.
The program begins on Sunday, October 18, at 6:00 PM, with an opening ceremony featuring speeches by the Forum's President, Saleh Al-Jaafreh, the patron of the ceremony, Minister of Culture Mustafa Al-Rawashdeh, and the Forum's Director of Programs and Activities, writer Mirna Hatqaweh. The ceremony will conclude with the poem "Narrative of Glory" by poet Ali Al-Faouri.
The activities continue on Monday, October 19, with an intellectual seminar titled "The Narrative is a National and Historical Necessity," presented by Dr. Baker Khazer Al-Majali and moderated by writer Etemad Sarsak. It will address the importance of the narrative in documenting national history, preserving collective memory, and enhancing awareness of the Jordanian identity and its foundations.
In the context of highlighting the tourism, heritage, and archaeological dimensions of the Jordanian narrative, a seminar titled "The Tourism, Heritage, and Archaeological Narrative in Jordan" will be organized on Tuesday, October 20. It will be presented by Professor Dr. Ibrahim Al-Kurdi, President of Ammon Applied University College, and moderated by writer Mirna Hatqaweh. The seminar will shed light on the Jordanian civilizational heritage, archaeological sites, and heritage landmarks that serve as evidence of the Kingdom's history and the diversity of its civilizational tributaries, contributing to enhancing its cultural and tourism presence.
The program concludes on Thursday, October 22, at 6:00 PM, with a poetry evening featuring poets and writers representing Jordanian cultural institutions: Adel Al-Khatib from the Arab House Cultural Forum, Abdul Rahman Mubaideen from Darat Al-Mashreq for Thought and Culture, Khaled Al-Qaisi from the Jerash Salon for Culture and Arts, and writer Jarwan Al-Maani representing the Abu Awwad Cultural Foundation.
The poetry evening provides a space for creativity to evoke place, memory, and humanity, and to express national sentiment through literary experiences that intersect with the contents of the Jordanian narrative and the historical, cultural, and human connotations it carries.
The Vice President of the Arab House Cultural Forum, writer Mirna Hatqaweh, is organizing and supervising the activities as part of the Forum's efforts to present cultural programs that contribute to stimulating the national cultural movement, strengthening partnerships between cultural institutions, and providing opportunities for intellectuals and the public to participate in discussions related to history, heritage, and identity.
The organization of the third season of "Jordanian Cultural Days" reaffirms the Forum's role in supporting the Jordanian cultural scene, embracing intellectual and literary talents, consolidating culture as an essential element in building national awareness and protecting collective memory, and highlighting the diverse civilizational and human heritage that Jordan possesses.
