The "JOHUD Rural" market in Rehab.. An initiative to support productive families

The Jordanian Hashemite Fund for Human Development (JOHUD), in cooperation with the Mafraq Antiquities Directorate, organized the "JOHUD Rural" market in the Rehab area, specifically at the heritage houses site, in the presence of the Rehab District Director, Dr. Omar Al-Khamayseh, as part of efforts aimed at supporting local production and empowering productive families and small business owners.

According to the director of the fund in Mafraq, Hamsa Al-Amoush, the market aims to provide an opportunity for productive families and artisans to display and introduce their rural products, and to open new marketing horizons for their projects, contributing to enhancing reliance on local production and providing economic opportunities for members of the community, in addition to preserving traditional crafts and folk heritage, which form an integral part of the cultural identity of the Rehab area.

The head of the Rehab Municipal Committee, Lina Al-Zoubi, emphasized the importance of holding such initiatives in supporting the local community and highlighting the heritage and tourism assets that the region abounds with, pointing out that empowering productive families and encouraging rural projects represent an important pillar in the path of local development, due to the economic opportunities they provide and their role in enhancing the participation of the region's people in preserving their civilizational legacy and passing it on to future generations.

Organizing the market at the heritage houses site gains special importance, according to the director of the Mafraq Antiquities Directorate, Hussein Al-Sarhan, due to the historical and civilizational value enjoyed by Rehab, as combining local products with heritage sites constitutes an opportunity to promote the region and highlight its cultural and human specificity, and enhance its presence as a destination that combines the authenticity of the past and opportunities for sustainable development.
