The Israeli army injured a 21-year-old Palestinian man on Wednesday after assaulting him at the Al-Muraba'a checkpoint west of Nablus in the northern occupied West Bank, following his detention for several hours, according to the Palestine Red Crescent Society.
The Society stated in a press release that its crews in Nablus "dealt with the injury of a young man from the village of Tell, and he was transported to the hospital to receive treatment."
It added that the young man had been detained since seven in the morning before the Israeli forces released him.
Since the start of the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip in October 2023, attacks by the Israeli army and settlers against Palestinians and their property have escalated in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem.
In total, the escalation by the Israeli army and settlers from October 2023 until the end of last September has resulted in the killing of more than 1,220 Palestinians, the injury of more than 13,350, and the arrest of about 24,600, according to official Palestinian data.
