An Israeli was injured on Thursday in a vehicular attack near the town of Atara, north of the city of Ramallah in the central occupied West Bank, while Israeli army forces began pursuing the suspect.
The Israeli army stated that its forces and police officers rushed to the Ateret settlement, part of what is known as the Binyamin Brigade, near the town of Atara, following a report of an Israeli being struck by a vehicle.
It added that an Israeli was injured in the incident and was transported to the hospital for treatment, without disclosing the nature or severity of the injury.
The army indicated that its forces have begun pursuing the suspect and have set up checkpoints on roads and in villages surrounding the area.
The army did not provide details regarding the identity of the suspect or the circumstances of the incident, nor did it clarify whether the incident was intentional or not.
From time to time, the occupied Palestinian territories witness shooting, stabbing, or vehicular attacks, amid a significant escalation in Israeli army assaults and settler terrorism against Palestinians since the beginning of the Israeli genocide in the Gaza Strip in October 2023.
Approximately 750,000 settlers reside in 194 settlements and 400 outposts in the West Bank, including occupied East Jerusalem, according to official Palestinian data.
Army and settler assaults include the killing and arrest of Palestinians, the demolition of homes and facilities, the burning of mosques and cars, the bulldozing of agricultural land, preventing farmers from accessing their farms, the displacement of Palestinians, and settlement expansion on their lands.
