The government announces an investment opportunity for a factory to assemble 15,000 electric vehicles annually

The government intends to announce an investment opportunity to establish a factory for assembling electric vehicles, with a production capacity of up to 15,000 passenger vehicles annually, targeting the local market, Arab and regional markets, and selected European markets.

This comes within the investment projects that the government intends to present to European investors during the Jordan-European Investment Conference, scheduled to be held in the Dead Sea area on November 19.

The project includes establishing a new factory for assembling electric vehicles using the Completely Knocked Down (CKD) system, which relies on assembling vehicle parts and components through integrated industrial processes within the Kingdom.

The project includes establishing lines for vehicle body assembly, painting operations, battery integration, and final assembly, in addition to conducting technical tests and quality checks before launching the vehicles into the markets.

According to investment data, the project relies on a manufacturing model that balances capital requirements, production volume, and local added value, allowing for the implementation of multiple stages of assembly and manufacturing operations within Jordan.
