The General Union of Public Services, Liberal Professions, Communications, and Information Technology Workers condemns, in the strongest terms of condemnation and denunciation, the heinous crime that targeted a church in Karak Governorate, which resulted in a number of deaths and injuries among the nation's citizens, affirming that this sinful act constitutes an assault on the sanctity of houses of worship, and on Jordan's security, stability, and national unity.
The Union affirms that targeting safe people is a crime that contradicts religious, human, and moral values, and that harming the security of our Christian brothers is a harm to the security of all Jordanians. Jordan is one homeland, and its people are partners in land, belonging, and destiny, united by the bonds of love, brotherhood, and citizenship. These criminal acts will not undermine the cohesion of Jordanian society nor succeed in spreading division and strife among its people.
The Union expresses its confidence in the competent security services to uncover the circumstances of this crime, pursue those involved, and bring them to justice, calling for awareness and responsibility, and not to circulate rumors and unreliable information that may be exploited to undermine societal peace.
The Union extends its sincerest condolences and deepest sympathy to the families of the victims and their relatives, and to our Christian families and brothers, asking God Almighty to grant their families patience and solace, to grant the injured a speedy recovery, and to protect Jordan and its people from all harm.
