The project also includes the construction of a roundabout at the intersection of the Baptism Site Road with the Dead Sea Road, including architectural, civil, lighting, mechanical, electrical, and agricultural works, in addition to various works related to the project in accordance with approved specifications.
The implementation of the project comes within the framework of the ongoing efforts of the government and the Ministry of Public Works and Housing to maintain the road network, increase its efficiency, and improve the level of services provided to its users, which contributes to enhancing traffic flow and raising road safety levels, especially on axes that witness increasing traffic and tourism movement.
The project gains additional importance as it includes the Baptism Site triangle area, which is one of the most prominent religious and tourist sites in the Kingdom. It is expected to witness growth in the number of visitors and tourism and religious movement over the coming years, in conjunction with the government's efforts and preparations to commemorate the second millennium of the Baptism of Jesus Christ, and the accompanying interest in developing and rehabilitating the roads and infrastructure leading to the site to ensure ease of access and raise the level of safety and services provided to visitors.
The project works also serve the Dead Sea area and the hotel area, which are among the most important tourist attractions in the Kingdom, which enhances the importance of maintaining the efficiency of the road, raising the level of traffic safety on it, and providing infrastructure capable of accommodating the increasing movement and supporting tourism and investment activity in the region.
