The Tafilah Governorate Culture Directorate organized today, at Anas bin Malik Basic School for Boys, an awareness lecture titled "Artificial Intelligence" as part of the "With the Book" cultural lecture program.
The lecture, presented by Dr. Ahmed Al-Saudi, aimed to raise students' awareness of modern technological transformations and guide them toward neutrality and the safe, innovative use of technology.
The lecture covered the scientific and cognitive development throughout human history, and the concept of artificial intelligence as advanced software and computer systems that rely on data analysis and direct learning.
The lecture reviewed the scientific benefits of modern technologies in processing big data and performing complex operations at high speed, while warning against the risks resulting from misuse, primarily the potential violation of digital privacy, the risks of weakening students' analytical and self-learning skills, as well as electronic forgery of voices and images.
The lecture concluded with a set of recommendations for students, including the optimal handling of artificial intelligence tools, the necessity of employing these technologies as auxiliary tools in research and learning without relying entirely on them to solve school assignments, while adhering to ethical standards, maintaining data privacy, and regulating the time spent using electronic devices to reduce the risks of digital addiction.
