"Ta'afun Contractors" Separates Contractors' Fines and Guarantees Families' Entitlements within Two Weeks

The General Authority of the Solidarity Fund in the Jordanian Contractors' Union approved a package of substantive amendments to the subscription and disbursement bases, most notably setting the age of 55 years as a dividing line for subscription scales, freezing previously imposed fines, and approving the subscriber's entitlement to 20% of their entitlements upon reaching 75 years of age. This comes at a time when the fund enjoys a financial position exceeding 350 thousand dinars, as announced by the authority during its last meeting.

The authority approved the financial and administrative reports of the fund for the year 2025, and agreed to disburse the full entitlements of two colleagues who applied for compensation claims for disability before the system was amended. It also authorized the fund management committee to complete the necessary procedures to finalize their files.

The contractor's syndicate and the chairman of the fund management committee, Fouad Al-Duwairi, confirmed that the fund has settled all the entitlements due to it and there are no pending cases, pointing out that work is underway to disburse the entitlements of the families of deceased contractor colleagues within a period not exceeding two weeks and in full of the amount due.

According to the approved amendments, those aged 55 years and under are accepted on a subscription scale of 10 years, while those over this age are subject to a scale of 15 years, with the continuation of the provisions of the previous system in matters not amended.

The authority explained the bases for the return of the dismissed participants to the fund, where those who have been subscribed for five years or more return to the old system, while those who have been subscribed for less than five years are subject to a new scale of 10 years.

The meeting, chaired by Al-Duwairi, was attended by the deputy head of the fund administration, Wadi' Abu Arrish, the fund treasurer, Rafiq Murad, committee members Fathi Amran and Abdul Hakim Al-Bustanji, and the union's secretary-general, Sail Al-Trawneh.
