The assets of the Social Security Investment Fund jumped to approximately 20.1 billion dinars by the end of the third quarter of 2026, compared to approximately 18.7 billion dinars at the end of 2025, an increase of nearly 1.5 billion dinars since the beginning of the year, with a growth rate of 8%.

This growth came as a result of the Fund achieving a comprehensive income of approximately 1.37 billion dinars during the first nine months of the current year, in addition to the insurance surplus transferred from the Social Security Corporation, which amounted to approximately 110 million dinars. The comprehensive income consists of the Fund's net income of 879 million dinars and the net increase in the valuation of the strategic equity portfolio of approximately 492.4 million dinars.

The Fund's net income achieved a growth of 8.6% compared to the same period in 2025. This income came mainly from the bond portfolio at 511.4 million dinars, the equity portfolio at 248.3 million dinars, and money market instruments at 86 million dinars, in addition to income from other portfolios.

The Fund's assets were distributed mainly across the bond portfolio at 56.2%, the equity portfolio at 21.3%, money market instruments at 11.5%, real estate investments at 5.6%, the loan portfolio at 2.4%, and the tourism portfolio at 1.6%.

Chairman of the Social Security Investment Fund Board, Omar Malhas, said that the Fund is a key part of the national economy and bases its decisions on a prudent investment policy and corporate governance frameworks. It evaluates investment opportunities according to the parameters of this policy in terms of return and acceptable risk levels, within an approach that balances investment feasibility and economic impact.

He explained that the Fund, in addition to investing in traditional instruments that form the basis of investment portfolios for global pension funds, is witnessing a qualitative shift in its investment directions by expanding into major long-term projects in the water, energy, transport, and mining sectors, through local, regional, and international strategic partnerships.

Malhas also emphasized that this approach allows for directing capital into investments that raise the productivity of the national economy and enhance its competitiveness, and serve the social security system through two integrated paths: generating job opportunities that contribute to expanding the base of subscribers and increasing revenues from insurance contributions, and achieving investment returns that are reinvested to develop social security funds and enhance their sustainability.

For his part, the President of the Social Security Investment Fund, Dr. Ezzeddine Kanakrieh, said that the growth of assets and the rise in the Fund's income reflect the robustness of the investment base from which the Fund is launching into a new phase of expansion, combining the development of existing investments with entry into qualitative sectors and major projects, which expands its asset base and enhances its ability to generate sustainable returns.

Kanakrieh explained that the Fund employs its financial size and institutional expertise in studying opportunities, entering into new investments, and building strategic partnerships, allowing it to expand the scope of its investments and diversify sources of return.

He added that the Fund takes into account, within its view of the investment portfolio as a whole, the opportunities for integration between its investments in various sectors, and the potential that some projects may offer to enhance the value of existing investments by reducing costs, increasing efficiency, or expanding value chains, thereby enhancing the value generated from the portfolio as a whole.

The Fund's investment activity has witnessed momentum in major projects over the past period, as the foundation stone was recently laid for the Aqaba-Shidiya-Ma'an railway project. The Fund owns a 7% stake in the project company within a Jordanian-Emirati strategic partnership, in its first investment in rail transport. The project will also support the Fund's existing investments in the Jordan Phosphate Mines and Arab Potash companies by reducing transport costs, increasing the efficiency of their operations, and enhancing their competitiveness.

The Fund and the Oman Investment Authority also signed an agreement to launch an investment partnership, under which the Jordanian-Omani Investment Company was established, based in Jordan, with equal ownership between the two parties and an investment volume of 100 million US dollars.

In the National Water Carrier project, the Fund established the National Water Investments Company, wholly owned by the Social Security, for the purpose of owning a 15% stake in the project company. The Fund is also currently completing procedures for its direct contribution to financing the project through a consortium of Jordanian commercial banks.

Recently, the Council of Ministers approved the Fund's participation with a 20% stake in the equity of the Combined Cycle Power Generation Project (IPP7), which aims to strengthen the electrical energy system in the Kingdom.

The Fund is also currently working on completing the procedures for owning a 20% stake in the project company for the construction of a pure phosphoric acid production plant, which will be established in partnership between the Jordan Phosphate Mines and Arab Potash companies.

The Fund continues to study investment opportunities in the technology, mining, and transport sectors, and is working to attract strategic partners to launch new projects in the Kingdom. This movement reflects a trend towards consolidating the Fund's presence in sectors that will constitute key drivers of growth in the coming years, and expanding its role as an institutional investor in major projects, which enhances its ability to continue developing social security funds and serving the interests of subscribers and retirees, and supports economic growth and investment activity in the Kingdom.
