Seven inmates in Ain al-Arab prison in the Aleppo countryside lost their lives, and a number of others suffered from cases of suffocation, as a result of a fire that broke out inside the prison today, Saturday.

According to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), a security source stated that the fire broke out during a state of chaos provoked by a number of inmates, against the backdrop of riots witnessed in the city yesterday, pointing out that the prison is still being managed by its former staff and has not been handed over to the internal security forces yet.
