Settlers storm Al-Aqsa Mosque under protection of Israeli occupation forces

Settlers stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque on Sunday in the occupied city of Jerusalem, under heavy guard by the Israeli occupation police, under the pretext of the "Throne Festival".

Palestinian sources reported that a number of settlers stormed the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque, from the side of the Gate of the Moroccans, and carried out provocative tours and performed Talmudic rituals, amid the tightening of the Israeli occupation's military measures in its vicinity and in the Old City.

The Israeli occupation authorities decided to impose a comprehensive closure on the West Bank and close the crossings from Sunday until next Saturday, under the pretext of the "Throne Festival".

According to the Palestinian News and Information Agency (WAFA), the occupation exploits Jewish holidays to distress the Palestinian people, in conjunction with widespread violations committed by the occupation forces, including imposing siege and tightening military measures at checkpoints, obstructing access to holy sites, in addition to the continuous terrorism of the settlers that does not stop.

In the meantime, the occupation forces tightened their military measures in the vicinity of Ramallah and Al-Bireh in the morning, and closed a number of roads and entrances.

Palestinian sources reported that the occupation forces closed the iron gate at the entrance to the town of Turmus Ayya, north of Ramallah, in both directions, and mistreated the Palestinians, as they also closed the entrances of Aboud, Al-Nabi Salih, and Attara to the north, and Taybeh to the east, while setting up a military checkpoint at the entrance to Yabrud and Ein Siniya to the outside, and searched vehicles and checked the identities of their passengers.

The occupation forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance to the town of Jiba, which led to the obstruction of vehicle movement in the area.
