Internal Security Forces carried out a security operation targeting a cell affiliated with the "ISIS" organization in the town of Rankous in western rural Damascus.
The Syrian Internal Security Forces stated on Thursday that the security operation was carried out in cooperation with the General Intelligence Directorate.
On the 16th of this month, the Syrian General Intelligence Directorate, in cooperation with the Internal Security Forces, thwarted in a proactive security operation a plot targeting a police patrol in the Rural Damascus Governorate, which an ISIS-affiliated cell was preparing to execute.
The operation resulted in the arrest of the two involved individuals and the seizure of an explosive device primed for detonation that was in their possession.
