The Sanad Association for Youth Thought and Action followed with great interest the proceedings of the National Security Council meeting chaired by His Majesty King Abdullah II today, Saturday, in the presence of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II. The association affirms its support for His Majesty's firm directives following the terrorist attack that targeted a church in the village of Hamoud in Karak Governorate, and stands behind the Hashemite leadership, our armed forces, and our security services in protecting the nation and safeguarding the security and safety of Jordanians.
The association emphasizes that His Majesty's assertion that the security of Jordanians is a red line, and that the perpetrators of the crime must be pursued and everyone who supported or justified it must be held accountable with the full force of the law, embodies the state's will to protect lives and enforce the rule of law. It also stresses the importance of His Majesty's directives to confront extremist ideology, dry up its sources, enhance security readiness, keep citizens informed of investigation updates, and counter rumors and misinformation aimed at inciting fear and sedition.
In response to His Majesty's directives, the association announces the launch of the "Jordan is One Heart" initiative to strengthen national solidarity and activate the role of youth in confronting extremism and hate speech through dialogue meetings, volunteer activities, and awareness messages. It also aims to coordinate joint efforts with youth and community institutions and religious authorities to consolidate respect for places of worship, verify information before sharing it, and promote the values of citizenship and brotherhood between Muslims and Christians.
The association stresses that targeting places of worship and terrorizing peaceful people is an attack on all Jordanians and their values, and that confronting this ideology requires the concerted efforts of the family, school, university, and religious and media institutions to build awareness, protect youth from incitement and hate speech, and consolidate a culture of dialogue and respect for others.
The association calls on youth and civil society organizations to translate solidarity into action that protects our national unity and supports the families of the martyrs and the injured, affirming that solidarity is a continuous responsibility embodied in word, stance, and behavior, and that Jordan will remain, through the unity of its people and their rallying around their Hashemite leadership, resilient against terrorism.
May God have mercy on the martyrs of the nation, heal the injured, and keep Jordan dear, safe, and fortified.
