His Majesty the King: No leniency with terrorism.. and the unity of Jordanians is a red line

His Majesty’s chairing of the National Security Council meeting, in the presence of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al-Hussein bin Abdullah II, and listening to the latest investigation updates, confirm that protecting citizens and safeguarding the nation's security is a priority that does not accept leniency, and that the state is proceeding with pursuing those involved and holding accountable everyone who supported or justified the crime in accordance with the law.

Targeting the church is not an attack on our Christian brothers alone, but rather an attack on Jordan as a whole; for Christians and Muslims are partners in the homeland and destiny, united by a firm national identity and a history of coexistence and harmony. Attempts by terrorism and takfiri ideology will not succeed in damaging this relationship or sowing discord among the members of one society.

His Majesty the King’s directives carried dimensions that go beyond dealing with the crime, to include enhancing security readiness, reviewing policies to combat extremism and drying up its sources in coordination with religious authorities, countering rumors and misinformation, and consolidating the rule of law and the prestige of the state. These are steps that confirm that confronting terrorism requires security firmness, societal awareness, and intellectual treatment that prevents the recurrence of such crimes.

At this stage, everyone bears a national responsibility to avoid rumors, not to be drawn into hate speech, and to leave investigations to the competent authorities. The anger over this crime must strengthen our unity, not turn into an entry point for division or accusations.

The terrorists bet on fear and division, but they are facing a Jordan that is cohesive in its leadership, people, and institutions. Karak, like all the governorates of the Kingdom, will remain an authentic part of a homeland that is not shaken by crimes, and whose unity is not undermined by attempts at sedition.

May God have mercy on the martyrs, grant the injured a speedy recovery, protect Jordan, its leadership and people, perpetuate the blessing of security and safety upon it, and make our national unity stronger than any challenge.
