Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam said on Sunday that the renewed threats from the Houthi group to target Saudi airports and airspace, following the attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, reveal the group's determination to continue threatening the security of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which undermines the security and stability of the region.
Salam added, in a post on the "X" platform, that Lebanon condemned the attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh on Saturday in the strongest terms.
Salam reiterated Lebanon's full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, affirming Lebanon's support for it in any measures it deems appropriate to defend itself, protect its people, security, and sovereignty.
And extended King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh suspended its operations on Sunday, following an attack on Saturday that resulted in the death of 12 people and the injury of 309 others, while the competent authorities continue to assess the damages, without setting a date to resume flights.
Airlines were informed at dawn on Sunday of the extension of the suspension until further notice, according to a source involved in overseeing flights to Riyadh, who pointed to information about damage to systems, including radar and communication devices, and the need to assess the condition of the runways before resuming operations.
