A new short narrative film being filmed in the capital Amman is opening the field for acting talents to participate in the work by selecting a group of actors for main and supporting roles, as published by the Royal Film Commission of Jordan through its official platforms, a step that allows those interested in performing arts to gain practical experience in the film industry.
The production team is looking for a young actor around 22 years old to play the lead role, portraying a young man going through a family and psychological crisis. The role requires physical fitness and the ability to perform running and fighting scenes, along with previous acting experience.
The roles also include supporting characters for a woman and a man aged between 50 and 60 years, in addition to supporting roles and extras for young people aged between 20 and 30 years. Participation in this project provides an opportunity for young people and those interested in acting to test their abilities and engage in a field cinematographic experience, allowing new talents to gain practical experience and learn about the nature of working in front of the camera. The short film is an important space for discovering young talents and enabling their presence in the local cinematic scene.
This experience comes in the context of the continuous presence of the short film industry in Jordan, which has provided opportunities over the past years for filmmakers and new talents to develop their experiences through training, production, and participation in shows and festivals. Director and filmmaker Anwaar Shawabkeh has experience in this field, starting with the film “Amman in Motion” which won the second prize in the short documentary film competition in 2015 before continuing to work on short and documentary films and animation, along with her participation in training and empowering young people in the field of film production.
To apply for the auditions, those interested can send their full name, age, phone number, two recent photos (one of the face and one of the body), and their acting resume if available, along with a “show-reel” or a video clip from previous work if available, to the email address: anwaarshawabkeh@yahoo.com, with the role name and full name in the subject line.
