Madaba Assistant Governor Imad Al-Abadi inaugurated the "Reading for All / Jordanian Family Library" festival in its twentieth edition, which was held at the Union of Charitable Societies hall in the governorate, in the presence of Madaba Director of Culture Mohammed Al-Rawahneh, and a crowd of local community members and those interested in cultural affairs and reading.
Al-Abadi emphasized the importance of books and their role in building individuals and enhancing their culture and knowledge, citing the saying "The best companion in time is a book," noting that cultured nations are those that read, and that the book constitutes a fundamental pillar in forming a person’s culture and refining their thought.
For his part, Al-Rawahneh said that the Jordanian Family Library festival aims to enhance community awareness, spread knowledge, and encourage various segments of society to read and become informed, noting that the exhibition includes about 50 titles in various fields of knowledge and culture, including studies, publishing, philosophy, history, and children's stories.
He pointed out that the exhibition will continue until next Thursday, where books are offered at nominal prices to be accessible to everyone, as the price of a book intended for adults is 35 piasters, while the price of children's books is 25 piasters, with the aim of encouraging families and children to acquire books and promote a culture of reading among them.
