On the International Day of Older Persons.. Jdileh Heritage Association and Aman Community Center organize a heritage meeting for women of As-Sirih

The International Day of Older Persons was not an ordinary day in the As-Sirih area; the Jdileh Heritage Association, under the chairmanship of Rania Al-Shiab, in cooperation with the Aman Community Center in Irbid, affiliated with the Lutheran Charitable Union, and within the community empowerment program, organized a heritage meeting that brought together a number of elderly women from the community, in warm atmospheres that brought back memories of the good old days and the days of youth.

In the meeting, which was moderated by the media professional Ayat Al-Barghouti, the authenticity of the past was mixed with the hope of the present, as the women gathered at the "Jdileh Heritage House" in a session characterized by warmth and love, during which they recalled details of old life, childhood stories, past songs, and memories of the days of harvest and seasons of goodness.

The participants also recalled a number of traditional old dishes, including the correct and match, and authentic tabun bread, along with varieties of traditional sweets, such as the shredded sweet, which used to adorn tables and embody the meanings of affection and blessing.

Rania Al-Shiab, the president of the association, said that this event on the occasion of the International Day of Older Persons comes to confirm that the blessing of society lies in the experiences of our mothers and grandmothers and their shining history, pointing out that the meeting of grandmothers at the Jdileh Heritage House represents a living embodiment of the loyalty of generations, and an attempt to repay them, and to revive the material and moral heritage that they contributed to building and preserving with their generous hands.

For their part, those in charge of the community empowerment program confirmed that this cooperation comes as an appreciation of the status of the elderly and their extended contributions, and within the framework of the shared desire to empower various categories of the local community, preserve the popular memory, and link successive generations to their heritage and national identity, in addition to providing interactive social spaces that enhance the values of solidarity and affection among community members.

The meeting was interspersed with various heritage and commemorative segments, which the attendees interacted with passionately, expressing their happiness with this gesture that revived cherished details and memories from the history of the As-Sirih area and Irbid Governorate in general.
