"National Library" and "Library Association" Continue the Reading Marathon

As part of the reading marathon in preparation for the celebration of the "National Reading Day Festival 2026" to be held next Tuesday, the National Library Circle continued its activities by implementing the "Your Book is Your Friend" campaign and launching the program of the Jordanian Library and Information Association.

The campaign included a group of schools, where books and children's stories were distributed to students, in a step aimed at reaching students in their schools and enhancing awareness of the importance of reading and its role in developing thinking and creativity and building a generation of readers proud of knowledge.

In parallel, yesterday, within the activities of the Jordanian Library and Information Association to celebrate National Reading Day, a specialized workshop for school librarians titled "Designing Reading Initiatives for Students" was launched to develop their skills in motivating young people and exploring innovative methods to enhance the reading environment.

The Association also opened the door for its members to participate in the "Reading Marathon" organized in cooperation with the Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation, amid a wide turnout of librarians and reading enthusiasts.

The activities will conclude with the organization of a virtual seminar via video conferencing technology on the "Role of Public Libraries in Instilling a Culture of Reading in Society" with Arab participation from experts and specialists in the field of libraries and cultural development.
