Municipality: “Valet” parking permit issuance service is available on the website

The Greater Amman Municipality affirmed that the car parking (valet) permit issuance service has become available through its website, as part of its efforts to regulate the sector and develop its digital services system, ensuring the simplification of procedures for business owners and raising the efficiency of oversight in streets and commercial areas.
The municipality explained that the service contributes to curbing the exploitation of sidewalks and impeding traffic movement, and enhances oversight over unlicensed service providers, ensuring the service is delivered according to legal and safe foundations.
The Secretariat stated that the service allows owners of parking companies and shop owners to issue permits electronically, provided that a vocational license is available for the company
(Valet company), a vocational license for the establishment to which the service will be provided, and a vocational license for the parking location (yard - additional parking lots), in addition to a guarantee contract attested by a notary public or a lease contract between the service provider and the owner of the parking location, and a copy of the contract concluded with the shop required to be provided with the parking service, specifying its duration, the number of parking spaces required to be secured by the shop, the terms, rights and obligations of both parties.
It pointed out that regarding shops wishing to obtain a permit for their structural parking spaces—whether they added the parking service profession to the shop's vocational license or contracted with a company—the parking spaces required for the profession must be complete, unreduced, and not paid as a lieu of parking fees (fee in lieu of parking). The service provider is strictly prohibited from using sidewalks and reserving them with obstacles under any circumstances.
The municipality had launched the electronic parking and valet permit issuance service, linking it with the Ministry of Interior and the Public Security Directorate, with the aim of regulating the sector and curbing randomness and violating practices in streets and commercial areas.
