The Ministry of Labor and the College of Advanced Vocational Training (CAVT) in Jordan, a program of the Crown Prince Foundation, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) through the Ministry's National Employment Program. The MoU aims to enhance the alignment of training outcomes with labor market needs and facilitate access for the college's male and female graduates to suitable job opportunities via the national employment platform, "Sajjil".
The memorandum was signed on behalf of the Ministry by its Secretary-General, Abdul Halim Doujan, and on behalf of the college by its CEO, Ammar Gharaibeh, in the presence of the college's advisor Omar Qutaishat, the college's Private Sector Partnerships Manager Maram Abu Damwas, and Communications Manager Mohammad Mashal.
The memorandum aligns with the government's Economic Modernization Vision to support employment and skills development, and to expand partnerships with private sector and training institutions.
Under the MoU, the data of the college's graduates and their training programs will be listed on the "Sajjil" platform, after verifying that they meet registration criteria and obtaining their necessary approvals.
It also includes cooperation in displaying their qualifications via digital badges on the platform, which helps employers identify their skills and training experience, and enhances their chances of accessing suitable jobs.
Areas of cooperation include exchanging necessary data for linkage, employment, and analysis purposes, monitoring the employment status of graduates in accordance with approved powers and consents, as well as collaborating on training, qualification, and analytical studies, and involving the college in awareness campaigns regarding the use of the platform.
The memorandum stipulates that any support request for a beneficiary must be subject to verification of compliance with the eligibility conditions and standards approved by the National Employment Program.
The cooperation between the Ministry and the college is expected to create a clearer path for graduates to transition from training to job opportunities, and to enhance the alignment of the skills they acquire with the requirements of private sector employers.
