Lebanese Prime Minister from Nabatieh: War is not our choice but was imposed on us

Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam said on Friday that the government's commitment to the people of the South and Nabatieh "has not and will not change," affirming the return of state institutions to work in Nabatieh to serve the steadfastness of its people.

Salam added, during a speech from Nabatieh, that the war "was not our choice but was imposed on us," pointing out that the state continues to bear its responsibilities towards the people of the South.

He said that the volume of needs in the South and Nabatieh exceeds the state's capacity, which requires significant funding, affirming the continuation of work to meet the needs of the region and support its people.

Salam confirmed that the state will remain present in the South and Nabatieh, and that its institutions will continue to play their role in serving citizens and enhancing their steadfastness.

Salam emphasized that the priorities are to stop the attacks, the withdrawal of Israel, and the return of Lebanese people to their towns, stressing that waiting for a major regional settlement is not an option for Lebanon; because it may or may not come, or it may be "at the expense of Lebanon.
