Jordan Post "Issuance of Digital Address Instructions for 2026"

In the latest issue of the Official Gazette, the Digital Address Instructions for 2026 were issued, pursuant to Paragraph (A) of Article (62) of the Civil Status Law No. (9) of 2001, and they shall be effective from the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.

The instructions define a digital address as a digital address that includes a digital mailbox identified by a national and non-repetitive number for the addressee, with the aim of receiving official notifications, correspondence, notices, and postal parcels.

According to the instructions, the application for the service can be submitted through the official website of the General Post Operator, or through the Sanad application and platform. The electronic service application procedures include entering the applicant's data, verifying their identity, and determining their geographical location.

After completing the service application procedures, the digital address is created and sent to the service applicant, including the digital mailbox number and postal code, with the possibility of updating the beneficiary's geographical location while keeping the digital mailbox number unchanged.

The instructions stipulate the electronic linking of the applicant's data with the Civil Status and Passports Department and the Royal Geographic Center to verify their identity and determine their geographical location, in accordance with the relevant legislation. The digital address is also linked to the beneficiary's national number, and each beneficiary has only one digital address.
