Jordan Environment Society Opens Second Session of Level One for Environmental Specialist Diploma

The second session of Level One for the Environmental Specialist Diploma, titled 'Strategic Foundations for Environmental Management, Economy, and Sustainable Environmental Governance,' was inaugurated at the Training, Capacity Building, and Consultation Center of the Jordan Environment Society, with participation from representatives of several national institutions and the private sector.

Dr. Malek Al-Zaben, Head of Quality, Marketing, and Development at the Consultation and Training Center at the University of Jordan, who inaugurated the session, emphasized the importance of investing in building capacities and enhancing environmental knowledge and skills among national cadres, contributing to the development of institutional performance and keeping pace with rapid environmental changes and challenges.

He pointed out the importance of integration between academic and training institutions and the public and private sectors in preparing specialized cadres capable of applying concepts of sustainable environmental management, governance, and green economy, affirming that specialized training forms a fundamental pillar for achieving sustainable development goals.

The Director of the Training, Capacity Building, and Consultation Center, and the Executive Director of the Society, trainer Maan Nasaireh, said that Level One of the diploma covers a set of important topics, most notably sustainable environmental management, environmental legislation and governance, green and circular economy, natural resource management, sustainable development goals, green growth, and occupational safety and health.

He added that the importance of the program lies in providing participants with practical knowledge and skills that enable them to deal with modern environmental issues and challenges, enhancing the role of national institutions and the private sector in achieving sustainable development, alongside raising awareness of sound environmental practices.

Nasairah explained that Level One is part of the comprehensive Environmental Specialist Diploma, which consists of two levels, where participants obtain a diploma certificate after successfully completing the requirements of both levels.

The launch of the second session follows the success of the first session implemented by the Society last week, within the framework of the Society's ongoing efforts to build national capacities and qualify specialized cadres in the environmental field, in line with its directions to spread environmental culture and enhance concepts of sustainability and environmental governance.

It is noteworthy that the Training, Capacity Building, and Consultation Center continues to implement its specialized training programs aimed at developing skills and enhancing expertise in environmental fields, serving institutions and the local community, and supporting the journey of sustainable development in the Kingdom.
