Iraq Resumes Entry of Travelers and Trade Through 3 Border Crossings with Iran

The Iraqi Security Media Cell announced on Sunday the resumption of the entry of travelers and trade through the Al-Shaab, Al-Shalamcheh, and Mandali border crossings, based on directives from Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi.

The cell stated that the entry of travelers through the Al-Shaab and Al-Shalamcheh crossings resumed starting at 6:00 AM on Sunday, while commercial movement will resume through the Al-Shalamcheh crossing on Monday, Mandali on Tuesday, and Al-Shaab on Thursday, according to schedules set by the Iraqi authorities.

It explained that the decision came after reviewing the operational reality of the border crossings and identifying their organizational and technical needs, in coordination with the entities and agencies operating within them, with the aim of enhancing border security and maintaining the smooth flow of passenger movement and trade.

The cell confirmed that crossing and trade movements with the Iranian side continue 24 hours a day through the Zurbatiyah and Al-Mundhiriyah crossings.
