The Jordan Inbound Tour Operators Association (JITOA) intensified its activities and movements during the period from May to October 2026, by implementing 14 activities and initiatives aimed at stimulating inbound tourism to Jordan, expanding partnerships with airlines, hotels, and tourism entities, and opening new markets for the Jordanian tourism product.
These moves come within the framework of the Association's vision to enhance Jordan's presence in regional and international tourism markets, through expanding the network of relationships with international partners, and enhancing cooperation and partnership with the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and the Jordan Tourism Board, ensuring the integration of efforts between the public and private sectors in promoting the Kingdom and opening new markets for Jordanian tourism.
The Association’s efforts were distributed between organizing external tourism forums and bilateral business meetings, enhancing cooperation with airlines, and developing strategic partnerships, in addition to working on raising the efficiency of workers in the tourism sector and following up on the challenges facing inbound tourism offices.
In the context of promoting Jordan in foreign markets, the Association organized tourism forums and B2B meetings in four destinations, including Damascus in June, Cairo in July, Tashkent in Uzbekistan, and Istanbul in Turkey during October 2026, with the aim of building new working relationships with partners in the target markets and enhancing opportunities to attract more tourists to the Kingdom.
The Association also held an expanded meeting as part of a "Power Breakfast" event in June 2026, which brought together inbound tourism offices and member hotels with representatives from Royal Jordanian Airlines, the Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority, and the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority, to review the latest developments and discuss cooperation opportunities that serve the tourism sector.
Regarding partnerships with airlines, the Association strengthened its cooperation with Royal Jordanian Airlines by signing a cooperation agreement that includes travel benefits for the Association's members. It also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Emirates Airline in Jordan, with the aim of documenting and strengthening the frameworks of cooperation between the two sides, and supporting tourism promotion efforts for the Kingdom in foreign markets, contributing to increasing visitor numbers and enhancing the competitiveness of the Jordanian tourism destination.
With regard to the challenges facing inbound tourism offices, the Association continued to hold meetings and follow-ups with the Social Security Corporation and relevant authorities to discuss possible solutions to the challenges facing the offices and work towards creating a more supportive and stable work environment for tourism establishments.
The Association also continued its efforts to develop new opportunities in international markets by organizing external tourism forums and following up on cooperation with the Seven Wonders of Jordan Committee regarding joint tourism initiatives, which enhances awareness of Jordanian sites and tourism products and supports the diversification of experiences offered to visitors.
The Jordan Inbound Tour Operators Association emphasized that enhancing Jordan's position on the international tourism map requires continuing to work with a one-team spirit and the integration of roles between the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, the Jordan Tourism Board, and private sector institutions, considering that the partnership between the public and private sectors constitutes a foundation for unifying promotional efforts and developing the tourism product.
