The Jordan Inbound Tour Operators Association (JITOA) held a coordination meeting to follow up on preparations for the launch of the "Seven Wonders of Jordan" competition and to discuss the latest developments regarding its organization and voting mechanisms, as part of efforts aimed at promoting Jordanian tourist sites and enhancing their presence internationally.

The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Tourism and Antiquities Committee in the Senate, Senator Michel Nazzal; the Chairman of the Tourism Committee in the House of Representatives, MP Salem Al-Omari; the CEO of the Tourism Economy Association, the competition's sponsor, Osama Al-Dabbas; the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Jordan Inbound Tour Operators Association, Nabih Riyal; members of the Association's Board of Directors, Yassar Malhas and Ayman Abdel Karim; and the Association's Executive Director, Lama Mahadin.

The participants reviewed the completed work stages and the organizational and technical preparations for the competition, in addition to discussing its launch date and the period and mechanisms allocated for voting, to ensure facilitating public participation and achieving the competition's goals of highlighting the tourism potential that Jordan enjoys.

The attendees agreed to add the Chinese language to the languages approved for the competition, alongside Arabic, English, French, and Spanish, with the aim of expanding the scope of participation, reaching new tourism markets, and enhancing awareness of Jordanian sites at the international level.

The meeting also discussed ways to enhance cooperation with official authorities, as the participants agreed to address the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities to request the ministry's support and the assistance of the Jordan Tourism Board in the executive and promotional procedures for the competition, and to benefit from the Board's expertise and marketing capabilities to reach the largest possible segment of the public locally and internationally.

On the technical side, the participants agreed to work towards signing a memorandum of understanding with Orange to cooperate on technical and technological aspects, facilitate the voting process, and provide the necessary requirements to implement the competition efficiently.

The participants emphasized the importance of continuing coordination between the concerned parties and integrating efforts between the public and private sectors to make the competition a success, which contributes to highlighting the tourism, cultural, and natural diversity in Jordan, strengthening its position on the global tourism map, and supporting national efforts to attract more visitors and stimulate tourism activity.
