The President of the Lebanese Republic, General Joseph Aoun, received the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Dr. Imad Al-Hijazeen, at Baabda Palace, in the presence of the Lebanese Minister of Tourism, Laura Al-Khazen Lahoud, and the Jordanian Ambassador, Walid Abdul Rahman Jiffal Al-Heidar.
Al-Hijazeen reviewed the Jordanian preparations to commemorate the 2000th anniversary of the baptism of Jesus Christ in the Jordan River, and the cultural and spiritual dimension of the occasion that opens the way for joint programs and activities with Lebanon.
The meeting addressed ways to translate the shared historical and cultural heritage into more prominent and impactful tourism cooperation, enhancing complementarity between the two countries and giving tourism a broader space to build bridges of communication and highlight their cultural uniqueness.
