Greek Orthodox Patriarchate: The terrorist act in a church in Karak will not undermine national unity

The Greek Orthodox Patriarchate condemned the bloody act that resulted in the martyrdom of victims at the Saint George Greek Orthodox Church in Hamoud, Karak, affirming their confidence in the security services, which are capable of bringing the terrorist criminals to justice with professionalism and speed.

The Patriarch of the Holy City, Kyrios Kyrios Theophilos III, members of the Holy Synod, and His Eminence Archbishop Christophoros, Archbishop of Jordan, offered their condolences to themselves, the bereaved families of the victims, the Jordanian people of all spectrums, and the Hashemite leadership for the grave tragedy that touched all hearts and filled them with profound and painful sorrow.

A statement issued by the Patriarchate on Friday read: "Despite the great pain that has touched all of Jordan and all honorable people of this world, this ugly, bloody act will not undermine our national unity and steadfastness; rather, it increases our adherence and rallying, Christians and Muslims together, around our Hashemite leadership."

They expressed absolute faith that our Jordanian society will remain resistant to every dark, extremist ideology and that this criminal act is far removed from and alien to the moderate Islam of our country, calling on all believers to remain steadfast and to pray during these moments.
