Greater Mafraq Municipality Implements Solar Energy Installation Project for Its Buildings at a Cost of 185 Thousand Dinars

The Greater Mafraq Municipality has installed solar energy systems on several of its buildings to reduce the cost of monthly electricity bills.

The Chairman of the Municipal Committee, Dr. Mohammad Khalaf Al-Fayez, told the Jordan News Agency (Petra) on Tuesday that this project was implemented through a financial grant of 185 thousand dinars from an organization, noting that solar energy systems were installed on the old municipal building, the municipal activities hall, the Youth Library, the Idon area building, the Southern District Office, and the central market in the center of Mafraq city.

He added that this project will contribute to reducing the cost of the municipal electricity bill by a percentage ranging between 70-80%, which will positively reflect in achieving financial savings for the municipal fund.
