Grand Imam of Al-Azhar praises the King's speech and positions at the United Nations in support of Arab causes

The Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Dr. Ahmed El-Tayeb, praised the positions of His Majesty King Abdullah II in supporting Arab and Islamic causes, foremost among them the Palestinian cause, noting that His Majesty's speech at the United Nations General Assembly was "a conveyance of the issues and pulse of the Arab and Islamic nation to the entire world."
During his reception of the Jordanian Ambassador to Cairo, Amjad Al-Adaileh, at the Al-Azhar Sheikhdom, he affirmed that the content of the Royal speech, which received international appreciation, "reflected the steadfast positions of Jordan and the Arab and Islamic nations toward our just causes, foremost among them the Palestinian cause, and the unprecedented aggression and humanitarian suffering witnessed in Gaza."
He also emphasized the importance of continuing joint Arab and Islamic efforts to defend the rights of the Palestinian people and working tirelessly to reach solutions and exits for this crisis and other current challenges.
Imam El-Tayeb renewed his appreciation for Jordan and its leadership, entrusting Ambassador Al-Adaileh with his greetings to His Majesty the King and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al-Hussein bin Abdullah II, and his wishes for Jordan for further prosperity and advancement.
For his part, Ambassador Al-Adaileh conveyed His Majesty the King's appreciation to the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar and his wishes for his continued health and success in leading this established religious institution, whose scholarly and advocacy role, as well as its mission in spreading the values of moderation, consolidating the culture of dialogue, coexistence, and global peace, and confronting extremist ideology, are valued by Jordan and its leadership, alongside Imam El-Tayeb's efforts in supporting the causes of the Arab and Islamic nations and strengthening the bonds of brotherhood and cooperation between peoples.
During the meeting, Al-Adaileh delivered a written message from His Royal Highness Prince El Hassan bin Talal to the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, which included His Highness's greetings to the Grand Imam and the strengthening of coordination and cooperation with the Al-Azhar Sheikhdom.
