Ma'an Governor Khaled Al-Hajjaj stressed the importance of activating emergency plans for the current winter, the necessity of continuing water supply to citizens to alleviate their burdens, and raising readiness to deal with damage to sewage networks.
This came during a visit to the Ma'an Governorate Water Administration contract office, where he met with the contract manager, Engineer Mohammed Al-Asoufi, to review the water situation in the governorate's regions and the progress of current and future projects.
Al-Hajjaj directed the importance of benefiting from the experience of last summer and working on planning for the coming summer, as well as following up on the funded projects announced by the Water Authority, which include improving water networks in the Ma'an district, Al-Husseinieh district, and Al-Mureigha sub-district.
For his part, Al-Asoufi reviewed the progress of water and sewage projects under implementation, including the completion of the sewage service project for the Governorate neighborhood, funded by the Governorate Council, and the health nuisance treatment project in Al-Shamiya neighborhood.
Al-Asoufi indicated that the repair work for the sewage line on Palestine Street has been awarded to a contractor, and work will begin within two days after completing the required coordination.
Al-Asoufi revealed that the drilling of five new wells has been completed and they have entered service to supply the Ma'an district and Al-Mureigha sub-district, improving the water situation there.
