The digital spokesperson for the government, Farah, said that the government has allocated an annual funding of 124 million dinars for the 'Care' program to cover the treatment of cancer patients, noting that more than 2,100 patients are currently receiving treatment under the program's umbrella.
Farah added, through the government's official communication platforms, that the program includes 4.2 million citizens, elderly people over 60 years old, children under 19 years old, and beneficiaries of the National Aid Fund, with the aim of facilitating access to treatment for those covered by the program from the moment they are diagnosed with the disease, without complex transfer procedures or waiting.
She explained that the launch of the program came in light of the need for cancer treatment without delay, in addition to the high cost of it, noting that the program provides automatic coverage for those covered by it upon diagnosis of their illness.
She pointed out that those covered by the program can obtain an insurance card through the 'Sind' application, without the need for additional procedures.
Farah confirmed that citizens not covered by the 'Care' program have access to cancer treatment in oncology centers affiliated with government hospitals, and in case the required treatment is not available, the government will cover the treatment and transfer to the King Hussein Cancer Center.
She said that the program aims to reduce procedures and burdens on cancer patients and their families, and to facilitate their access to treatment.
